Plenty of Baltic Manure activities at Agromek – Northern Europe’s largest agricultural fair
This year at Agromek – Baltic Manure had several activities on the program including matchmaking, a mini – seminar, guided tours and the announcement of the winner of the Baltic Manure Handling Award 2012. The matchmaking focusing on manure management technologies was arranged in cooperation with Innovation Network for Biomass, Agro Business Park, Enterprise Europe Network and Agromek. Around 35 companies participated in the matchmaking and according to the participants it was very valuable for them to participate in a B2B event, which was so focused on manure handling technologies.
The mini – seminar focused on verification of environmental technologies, including manure management technologies, and had a specific focus on the VERA certification, presented by Mr. Peter Engel. VERA is an environmental certification, which currently includes the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark, but it is expected that more countries will enroll in the certification system in the future. Mr. Lars Pedersen from JH – Staldservice gave a presentation about their work with in – house acidification and Mr. Henning Lyngsoe Foged from Baltic Compass gave a presentation of www.agro-technology-atlas.eu, which is a technology atlas with validated data on different manure handling technologies. You can find the presentations here. Finally the winner of the Baltic Manure Handling Award was revealed, you can read abbout the winning company here
Guided tours was also part of the Baltic Manure activity program and around 20 participants, divided on two tours on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon, visited exhibitors with environmental technologies. The participants were introduced to technologies from Biocover A/S (acidification), AL-2 Agro (separation), Samson Agro (slurry injection), Infarm (acidification), MT Hoejgaard A/S (air cleaning), Lundsby Industry (biogas) and MHJ Agroteknik A/S (air cleaning). For both exhibitors and participants the tours were a good opportunity to create contacts and learn more about the latest technologies in manure handling.
