The EcoRegion Perspectives present approaches how to achieve a sustainable development in the Baltic Sea Region. Each issue focuses on a specific topic such as tourism, education, agriculture, energy and transport and presents policies, projects and practices of the particular sector.
The Perspectives aim to support relevant regional fora such as the CBSS Expert Group on Sustainable Development – Baltic 21 as well as the implementation of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region.
The EcoRegion Perspectives of the sector agriculture on Sustainable agriculture in the BSR in times of peak phosphorus and global change are expected to gain recognition not only by policy makers, representatives of agricultural chambers, municipalities and advisory services, but also farmers and consumers on the topic sustainable phosphorus use. Thus, international experts assigned to agricultural stewardship for a sustainable phosphorus use contributed to the Perspectives and offered significant advancements of turning the Baltic Sea Region into the first EcoRegion of the world.
