3 X Baltic Sea Region Awards

BDF's Baltic Sea Award
For the 5th consecutive year Baltic Development Forum will assign the Baltic Sea Award 2011 to an individual or organisation that have made an extraordinary contribution to the development of the Baltic Sea Region.

Previous Baltic Sea Award winners include Björn Carlsson, founder of Baltic Sea 2020, and Tarja Halonen, president of Finland. Last year the Award was given to Cruise Baltic, a network of 27 cruise destinations in the Baltic Sea.

The winner will be presented 24 October during the gala dinner of the BDF Summit 2011 in Gdansk. Deadline: October 10th.

Baltic Sea Region Innovation Award
The BSR Stars flagship project and Baltic Development Forum are happy to announce the Baltic Sea Region Innovation Award.

The aim of the award is to highlight the importance of innovation in a Baltic Sea Region context by rewarding an organisation, team, project or network that have contributed to the innovative development of the region. The award is also a recognition of the fact that the Baltic Sea Region countries are among the most innovative economies in the world.

The winner of the award will be presented 25 October during the gala dinner of the combined BDF Summit 2011 and the Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region in Gdansk. Deadline: October 3rd.

Swedish Baltic Sea Water Award
The Swedish Baltic Sea Water Award recognises outstanding efforts to improve the marine environment in the Baltic Sea. It honors innovation, commitment and actions that support this noble mission.

Worth SEK 250,000, the award is presented annually by the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs in appreciation of the dedicated work by individuals, companies, organisations and public authorities. Since 2011 the award is administe red by the Swedish Institute.

A jury appointed by the Swedish Government reviews the nominations and selects the winner, which can come from any of the Baltic Sea Region countries. Deadline: September 30th.
